Zambian Football Round-Up

Matchday 4 is fast approaching this weekend with many exciting games to watch. Although still new, it is shaping up to be an excellent season. With such a wide array of games to watch, we have decided to bring 4 unmissable matches to bring to your attention.

The first unmissable match this weekend is between the first and second place of Group A. That's right, Zanaco face Zesco United. Zanaco are in terrifying form. They have scored 13 goals this season already. Not only are they unstoppable upfront but with only 6 goals they are quite good at keeping the opposition out of their net. An upside for Zesco is that Zanaco have yet to keep a clean sheet. It is an upside Zesco barely needs. They too are undefeated. Although they only scored a comparatively less impressive 3 goal in the two matches they've played, they are yet to let a goal in.

It will undoubtedly be a match of explosive attacking football against a more cautious approach.

The second huge head-to-head this weekend sees first and second from Group B play each other. It will be no less important than the first match highlighted. Green Eagles host Buildcon. This matchup is somewhat more precarious than the Zesco vs Zanaco game because Group B is much tighter. Only 1 point separates second place Eagles from fourth however, since losing their first match the Eagles have won every game. The same cannot be said of first place Buildcon. Buildcon drew the match before last however, they returned to form last week delivering a 4-1 thumping of Lumwana Radiants. Really, it's anyone's games.

The third highlighted matchup this week is Kitwe United vs Mufulira Wanderers. Much like Zesco, Kitwe have only played two games because of suspended play. However, unlike Zesco, Kitwe have managed to lose both games. Meaning they're coming into their third official tie on the worst kind of run. There is hope, though. Their previous match ended 4-3. This shows hope that Kitwe could go toe-to-toe in attacking power with most opponents. Indeed they have only lost by 1 goal margins so far. This suggests that potential for the struggling side. Their opponents however, will also try to secure 3 points. If the Wanderers do so and Zesco lose, they will catapult into second.

As mentioned before Group B is a very tight group. Fifth, sixth and seventh are all on equal points. Any of the matches would be a fascinating watch. We have highlighted seventh place Circuit City vs sixth Forest Rangers. A win for either could send said team into the upper echelons of the Group and provide them with much needed momentum throughout this season. Both have had similar seasons so far so the game could come down to small margins. All of which suggest a tantalising game of football.

Betway will have all the matches to play on this weekend and every other weekend. With so much on the line this weekend, the odds may be in your favour.
