Chipolopolo Conclude International Friendlies

The national team are back in Zambia following a series of international friendly matches against Malawi, Kenya and South Africa. The three international friendlies were scheduled for the FIFA window that runs from October 5-14.

The first fixture saw Chipolopolo defeat Malawi 1-0 in a victory secured at National Heroes Stadium. The national team previously encountered Malawi in a friendly in March of this year, shortly before Coronavirus hit the continent. As was the case then the result was a 1-0 victory for Chipolopolo following a goal from Napsa Stars strike Collins Sikombe.

The team then travelled to Kenya, where they lost to Kenya 2-1. They wrapped up the tour with a match against Bafana Bafana at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in South Africa, securing a 2-1 victory.

According to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic was using the matches to prepare the team for next month's back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Botswana and the Cameroon CHAN in January.
