Micho Plans Goalkeeper Academy
Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is planning to set up an academy for goalkeepers.
The academy will see 10 top goalkeepers comes together to nurture current and future talent. He has also indicated plans to launch a course for goalkeeping coaches.
His plans come as the team look for a replacement for national team goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene.
Micho has described Mweene as a footballing legend and his personal friend stating, “Kennedy Mweene deserves a footballing legend [award] in Zambia because his saving of those penalties has brought joy and pleasure. He is needed to the game, he has served, he is there.”
Mweene has 120 caps for the national team across nearly two decades.
Among those potential replacements to have been tested in competitive and friendly matches are Green Eagles Sebastian Mwange and Zanaco’s Toaster Nsabata.
