Kabaso Recalled to Chipolopolo

After being controversially dropped from the side in October 2020, with the FA remaining silent on reasons behind this, Chongo Kabaso has recently accepted his latest Chipolopolo call-up. 

The national side are due to face Algeria on the 25th March in a game which they must win if they are to attend Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in January 2022. The squad will then visit Harare to play the Zimbabwean team on 29th March. 

In spite of being dropped from the team last year, the Zambia Football Fans Association (ZAFFA) has been impressed by the patriotism demonstrated from Kabaso in accepting his Chipolopolo call-up. The General Secretary of ZAFFA commented in saying “You know, he has put his country first. For him to accept the call-up I think he has the heart for the nation”. 

By putting previous disappointment behind him will enable Kabaso to be a valued member of the team in their bid to reach the 2022 AFCON tournament.
