Chipolopolo Out Of AFCON 2021 Qualifiers

Zambia’s national football team have made a respectable exit to the 2021 AFCON qualifiers. 

Their final game saw them beat Zimbabwe away in Harare 2-0, with Paston Daka scoring both goals in the 20th and 90th minutes. 

Prior to this match, Chipolopolo drew their match with Algeria 3-3, which Makembo was sure they would win in spite of Algeria’s strong performance in the AFCON qualifiers.

Both matches against Zimbabwe and Algeria saw the Zambian side play without a number of its star players, leaving the team in third place in Group H on 7 points. They were only one point behind Zimbabwe who had qualified prior to their match beginning. 

Zimbabwe will join unbeaten Algeria in Cameroon to play in the AFCON tournament.
