Konkola Blades Back After Five Year Absence

Konkola Blades are back in the FAZ Super Division following promotion from the FAZ National Division 1 after a five year absence.

Club President Cornelius Chimbanga has said that the team are both excited and wary of the work which they will have to put in to succeed in the Super Division.

“We are mindful of the fact that the premier league is competitive and we need to back and relook at our strategy, bring in fresh ideas and thoughts,” Mr Chimbanga told journalists at a press briefing.

“Our expectations are realistic. We intend to stay in the Super League because we believe that is where we belong. We want our players to remain focused and disciplined, enjoy football and the exposure to better football,” he added.  

The Blades have played well this season, having also won the inaugural Copperbelt Provincial Cup.
