U-17 Women edges closer to World Cup qualification

The U-17 women's football team is on the verge of making history as they approach the final stages of FIFA World Cup qualification. Following an impressive 3-0 away victory against Tanzania, the Copper Princesses are poised to complete the task on home soil this Saturday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has called on fans to provide a "raucous homecoming" for the team. "Let's turn up in numbers and push our girls closer to a record back-to-back FIFA World Cup appearance," FAZ urged in a statement posted to its Facebook page.

The U-17 women's team's success comes amid broader progress in Zambian youth football. The U-17 and U-20 boys' teams are continuing their Africa Cup of Nations preparations, with the U-17 squad having recently participated in a Four Nations tournament in Morocco.

FAZ has emphasized its commitment to providing high-level preparation for all national teams, from U-15 to senior level, for international competitions.
