Buya Bamba Begins Exporting Potato Chips To South Africa And Namibia

Buya Bamba, a Zambian company, has begun exporting frozen potato chips to South Africa and Namibia.

It was announced last week by Charles Bota, Shoprite Zambia General Manager, that six containers of chips have been exported to Cape Town.

Meanwhile, another 36 containers have been ordered.

He also explained that 25 tonnes of chips had been exported to Namibia in October.

Mr Bota explained that there has been no need for local Zambian shops such as Shoprite and Hungry Lion to import chips as Buya Bamba has been able to meet their demands.

Previously, Zambia had a net export loss of potato chips. Whereby more chips had been imported than exported, but now this has been reversed.
