Over K794 Million For Infrastructure Works Under PF Rule Remains Unaccounted For

The Auditor General’s report has revealed that a sum of over K794 million allocated for the commencement of construction of the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway during the Patriotic Front (PF) administration remains unaccounted for.

Under an agreement between the Road Development Agency (RDA) and China Jiangxi Corporation for International Economic and Technical Cooperation (CJIC) dated May 31, 2017, CJIC was tasked with constructing 321 km of the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway, bypass roads in Kabwe and Kapiri Mposhi, 45k m of the Luanshya-Fisenge-Masangano road, RDA headquarters, toll plazas, and filling stations. The project was valued at K31.7 billion.

“According to clause 6 of the contract, the contractor was to facilitate the financing arrangements for the project,” the audit report states.
