Zambia Seeks Botswana's Mining Expertise, Launches Arbitration Center
President Hakainde Hichilema has invited Botswana to invest in Zambia's mining sector, praising the southern bordering country’s expertise in diamond management.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Lusaka International Arbitration Center (LIAC), President Hichilema said Zambia could learn from Botswana's diamond industry model.
The president said that Zambia should aspire to replicate similar success with its emerald resources, with LIAC facilitating efficient dispute resolution and ensuring investors like Botswana have access to a fair mediation process.The centre’s establishment will aid the government's plans to foster a positive environment for businesses operating in Zambia.
The launch of LIAC is a significant step towards supporting Zambia's mining sector and enhancing its reputation as a destination for international investment.
