Ndola City Council Allocates K350,000 To Fix Potholes
Ndola City Council (NCC) has allocated K350,000 to fix potholes in roads in the Northrise and Keasenshi townships, as well as parts of the Ndola Central Business District.
NCC’s head of public relations Rebecca Mushota said the work would be completed in phases, starting with the Jacaranda-Ndeke turn off road. During the first phase, Ms Mushota said the council would work with the Road Development Agency, who have already provided materials for patching the potholes.
The second phase will encompass Northrise and Kansenshi and was supposed to start during the first week of December.
The NCC has urged motorists to be patient as the council attempts to find ways to make the roads passable during these essential works.
Drivers have increasingly complained of the terrible state of the roads in Northrise and Kansenshi. One motorist, Mike Musonda, wrote to the NCC specifically to fix a huge pothole along the Ndola Kabwe road near the golf club.
“People’s vehicles, are getting damaged due to the bad roads in the city, the local authority should quickly maintain the roads to help motorists from damaging their vehicles,” he urged.
