Socialist Party Candidate Murdered In Kapiri Mposhi
The Socialist Party’s candidate for council chairperson in Chisamba Town has been murdered and his body set ablaze in a brutal attack in Kapiri Mposhi district.
Stallon Choke, 29, of Matipula village in Chisamba, was attacked by unknown individuals some time between 9th and 11th July. The murder was reported by his friend, Phillimon Moya, 26, from Kabwe.
Central Province Police Commissioner Chola Katanga said he believes Mr Choke was murdered before being set on fire. While inspecting the body, police noticed that his throat had been cut and there were blood spatters around the scene.
“We suspect inflammable substances were also used to burn the body after murdering him,” Katanga said.
The body has since been removed and taken to Kabwe Central Hospital for a full postmortem.
No arrests have been made but police have launched an investigation into the matter.
