Bus accident in Kafue claims four lives, injures 31
A South Africa-bound bus has crashed in Kafue district, resulting in four fatalities and leaving 31 passengers injured. The accident occurred at approximately 04:30 on 15 October near the Kafue Boys Secondary School junction on the Great North Road.
According to Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, the Marcopolo bus, operated by Juldan Motors, veered off the road and overturned. The vehicle sustained extensive damage in the crash.
Emergency services rushed to the scene to provide medical assistance to the injured passengers, who have been transported to local medical facilities for treatment.
Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) CEO Amon Mweemba visited the scene in Kafue. He warned drivers that weather conditions are changing, meaning the roads will be slipper and visibility is poor.
He warned drivers, especially transporters carrying many people, to be cautious.
