Kitwe bus carrying Seventh Day Adventists crashes, kills one

A bus carrying 36 Seventh Day Adventist Church members in Kitwe has crashed, killing one and injuring 34 others.

The Rosa bus was carrying the SDA members from a camp meeting in the Luango area when it plunged into the Mwambashi stream.

The 34 injured passengers were admitted to Chimwemwe Level One hospital. Medical director Dr Mulenga has said the condition of six of them – four of whom are children aged two to five years – was critical but stable.

He told ZNBC News the patients are responding well to treatment and hospital staff were working hard to stabilise them.
