HH to commission Kafulafuta Dam, benefiting over one million Copperbelt residents

In a significant development for the Copperbelt, President Hakainde Hichilema is scheduled to commission the Kafulafuta dam project in Masaiti next month.

The announcement was made by Water Development and Sanitation Minister Collins Nzovu during the official handover ceremony of the New Kafubu head office building in Ndola.

The minister emphasised the far-reaching impact of the dam, stating that it will positively affect the lives of more than one million people in the province.

To ensure a smooth inauguration, a commissioning committee has been formed to oversee preparations for the President's visit and the official launch of the dam next month.

The Kafulafuta project, which includes the newly opened Kafubu Water head office, has received praise from local officials. Engineer Watson Ng'ambi, Chairperson of the Kafubu Water and Sanitation Board, expressed gratitude to the government for its commitment to seeing the project through to completion.
