Mumba Accuses PF Of Hiring IT Firm To Rig 2021 Election

MMD leader Nevers Mumba has accused the Patriotic Front of hiring a South African IT company to help hack into the Electoral Commission of Zambia’s server in order to rig next year’s general elections.

Dr Mumba says the PF aims to collect sensitive information on voters across the country in a technique he says the government used to rig the recent Lukashya by-election which the PF won.

The MMD leader said he had received it on good authority form a senior PF member in Kasama that the polls were in fact rigged.

Mumba said his party is on high alert and will be monitoring the South African company’s activities carefully.

The PF has so far refused to comment on the allegations, however former MMD national secretary Raphael Nakachinda has called Dr Mumba a fool for issuing such accusations.

In return Dr Mumba said he was disappointed that a man who he introduced to politics would turn on him in order to gain political favour with President Lungu.
