HH Reiterates Call For Justice For Nsama Nsama And Joseph Kaunda
United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has reiterated his call for justice for the victims of the police shooting on December 23: Nsama Nsama Chipyoka and Joseph Kaunda.
Posting his plea to Facebook, HH wrote: “It is well over a week that we were told murderers of late Nsama Nsama Chipyoka and Joseph Kaunda had been identified and yet no arrests have been made yet. It's not a surprise that opposition supporters can be summarily arrested on flimsy grounds, while killers walk free.”
“We demand for justice for Nsama and Kaunda. Arrest the killers now!” He added.
It comes after President Lungu confirmed that he had received a police report on the killings over a week ago, which identified at least one suspect involved in the attack. However the report has not been made public and no new arrests have been made.
Nsama Nsama, who was a public prosecutor, and Joseph Kaunda, a UPND supporter, were killed outside police headquarters in Lusaka during a rally to support Hakainde Hichilema as he attended police questioning.
They died after police opened fire on the supporters, who were unarmed and behaving peacefully.
