UPND Youth Say They Know Which PF Cadres Destroyed Their Campaign Materials

The United Party for National Development’s Deputy National Youth Chair Stephen Chikota has said he knows which members of the Patriotic Front were responsible for burning campaign materials belonging to his party.

He has urged the police to arrest the individuals responsible within the next 48 hours or his fellow youth members will track down the suspects themselves.

“We are capable of hitting back if this lawlessness is allowed to continue and we are giving police 48 hours to arrest these known culprits,” Mr Chikota told members of the press.

His comments come after a video circulated on social media, showing suspected PF cadres attacking a printing company which was making T-shirts for the UPND. The cadres burned shirts with UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s face on them, boasting that no one could stop them as they were protected by PF leadership.

Speaking at the same event in the capital, Anderson Banda, UPND Youth Chairman for Lusaka Province, urged PF cadres to realise they are being manipulated into acts of violence by their party’s leadership and that they will be left to face the law alone.

Meanwhile, National Youth Secretary Samuel Nwira questioned how many chances President Lungu would give to failing Police Inspector General Kakoma Kanganja, following the killings outside Police Headquarters in December
