Government Spokesperson Hospitalised With COVID-19
President Edgar Lungu’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, Isaac Chipampe, has been hospitalised with COVID-19.
Officals at Maina Soko Military Hospital have confirmed that Mr Chipampe, along with his wife, have been admitted after suffering from severe symptoms of COVID-19.
The sources have also disclosed that both Mr and Mrs Chipampe are being kept in a secluded ward, away from other patients, for confidentiality purposes.
The pair appear to be responding well to treatment.
The hospitalisation follows President Lungu’s banning of political rallies to help stop the spread of COVID-19. In spite of this, ruling party, the Patriotic Front, continue to hold campaign rallies and large meetings across a variety of provinces.
As a result of this mismanaged response to COVID-19, the government have allowed COVID-19 figures to reach their highest yet, with 1,414 cases and 24 deaths recorded yesterday.
