President Hichilema To Visit US, Meet With Joe Biden
President Hakainde Hichilema will visit the United States of America later this month in order to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York. While in America he will meet with U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington D.C.
President Hichilema is expected to arrive in the U.S. on Monday 20th September. On Tuesday he will deliver a speech to the UN General Assembly as one of the few heads of state invited to speak in person.
On Thursday he will meet with President Biden and Vice President Harris before a conference with top US government officials at the Capitol. This is followed by a meeting with the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation: an independent U.S. foreign aid agency that provides support to countries with specific projects in mind.
While in America, President Hichilema will also meet with the president of the World Bank Dr David Malpass and the Managing Director of the IMF Kristalina Georgieva. Later he will touch base with the Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Bob Menendez and the president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Africa Business Centre.
On Friday, HH will deliver an address to Zambians living in the U.S. before a meeting with the Africa Business Council prior to his departure on Saturday.
