KCM Increases Production By 41%
Since the United Party for National Development's (UPND) leadership, the Konkola Copper Mine -KCM- (currently in liquidation) has increased productivity level by 41%.
The mine currently produces six thousand one hundred metric tonnes of copper per month, up from four thousand three hundred metric tonnes previously. Although the government is still trying to find a long term operator for the mine, in the meantime they have managed to maximise profits for the Zambian people.
PAUL KABUSWE, Minister of Mines and Mineral Development, announced this information yesterday in the National Assembly.
He said the new dawn administration is putting in place measures to ensure KCM is propelled to produce Seven Thousand Metric Tonnes of Copper monthly. And while questions remain over the long term plan for the mine the government isn’t wasting time on ensuring production is increased while the price of copper continues to soar.
Mr .KABUSWE also disclosed that Mrs NATASHA KALIMUKWA has taken over as Provisional Liquidator following the resignation of Mr. MILINGO LUNGU on March 17, 2022.
