Thieves Break Into Lungu’s House, Steal Two TVs

Police are investigating a burglary at former President Edgar Lungu’s house after thieves stole two Samsung television sets valued at K66,000.

The burglars are suspected to have gained entry to the house in Ibex Hill, Lusaka by cutting the electrical wire fence at the back of the residence, before climbing the wall and breaking down the main door.  

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the incident occurred between 01:00 and 06:00 on Wednesday morning before domestic workers arrived at the house and discovered what had been taken.

“Police visited the scene of crime and it was noted that criminals gained by cutting the electrical wire fence on the eastern side and its believed to be the same used as an exit .At the crime scene only one stand has been found in the next yard.Police have instituted investigations into the matter,” Hamoonga added.
