Former PF Mayor Praises HH’s First Year In Government
Former Muchinga Province Mayor and provincial Patriotic Front treasurer Thomas Mutale has praised President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND for its achievements during the party’s first year in government.
Exactly one year since voting began in the 2021 general election which delivered President Hichilema’s landslide victory, the former PF official has commended the president for his various socio-economic accomplishments.
Speaking to ZANIS news agency, he lauded the provision of bursaries and scholarships through the Constituency Development Fund as enabling many more young people in Muchinga to access tertiary education.
He also observed that free education and the employment of more than 40,000 teachers and healthcare workers were historic milestones that Zambian citizens should be proud of.
“for the first time in the country we have seen a huge recruitment of civil servants which has never happened with these other past governments since Zambia got independence,” Mr Mutale said.
The former mayor summarised that in just one year many people’s lives had been totally transformed.
Senior citizen Agness Mwansa, who was also interviewed by ZANIS, said the UPND had already delivered on most of its campaign promises to the Zambian people.
In particular she said the recruitment of young people for the upcoming national census would do wonders for unemployment as “once they are paid and I’m sure most of them will invest the money in various businesses which will help them be busy instead of indulging themselves in bad habits.”
