President Hakainde Hichilema Welcomes Delegation from K.E. International Consortium to Form Strategic Partnership
On Thursday, President Hakainde Hichilema hosted a delegation from K.E. International Consortium, an organisation that consults on large scale renewable and sustainable projects, business development, and implementation oversight amongst other things, with a strong focus on driving innovation.
K.E. are interested in creating Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects with Zambia. Their progressive plans include work on infrastructure development, electric vehicle battery production, agriculture, agro-processing, and renewable energy, closely aligning with the Zambia Presidential Delivery Unit’s (ZPDU) targets.
The delegation from K.E International was headed by Mr. Julius Mwale. During meetings on Thursday, the delegation proposed an extensive array of PPP and Joint Venture projects, emphasising an interest in key sectors such as infrastructure development, electric vehicle (EV) battery production, renewable energy initiatives, and investments in agriculture and agro-processing.
K.E. boasts a track record of successful investments and development in 12 difference countries across Africa. Their pioneering Smart City project in Kenya is an eco-friendly collaboration spanning five districts and featuring state-of-the-art hospitals, which have a 5,000-patient capacity and offer free healthcare services to Kenya’s citizens.
Speaking after the meetings, President Hichilema highlighted his government’s dedication to constructing tangible projects that can foster growth whilst also providing routes into previously unexplored opportunities.
These visionary ideas will yield substantial long-term benefits for the people of Zambia, creating well-paying jobs and providing investment and skills training for citizens.
The meeting itself further marks a significant step forwards in forging strategic partnerships which can help shape Zambia’s future in a bright way.
