Zambia Repatriates 77 Zambians From Israel

The Zambian government has repatriated 77 of its citizens from Israel amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas militants.

The returnees, who arrived back in Zambia on Wednesday, include 72 students. According to Zambia's Foreign Minister, Stanley Kakubo, there are 172 Zambian nationals in Israel, of which 143 are students.

However, some of them declined the government's offer for evacuation and chose to stay in Israel.

Kakubo was quoted as saying by the Anadolu news agency, 'For those who have decided to remain in Israel, rest assured that the ministry will maintain close cooperation with the Zambian embassy and the Israeli foreign ministry to take any necessary steps to ensure their ongoing safety.'

He also noted that no Zambian nationals had lost their lives in the conflict.
