COSAFA U20 - Prince Mumba Player Of Tournament But Zambia Finish Fourth

Mozambique have beaten Namibia 1-0 to win the team’s first COSAFA U-20 title.

The only goal of the final was scored by Dercio Augusto, from a free-kick that was put into the box.

It was the second time Namibia have made the final but they have never won. They previously lost to Zambia in 2010.

The two finalists will also qualify for Total U-20 AFCON Mauritania 2021.

Unfortunately, the Zambian team missed out on qualification, coming fourth in the tournament after they lost 2-1 to the Angolan team, which picked up the bronze medal.

However, Zambian team captain Prince Mumba was named Player of the Tournament. His prize is a trip to Spain for an ‘experience’ with leading side Villarreal CF, courtesy of LaLiga Santander. According to CAF, Mumba will have the chance to train with the club’s famous academy team, have a meet-and-greet with the first team, a tour of the club’s world-class facilities and, COVID-19 dependent, take in a Villarreal CF fixture in LaLiga.

Meanwhile, Mozambique’s goalkeeper Kimiss Zavala won the Golden Glove and Sinenjongo Mkiva (South Africa) and Ambrosini Salvador (Angola) shared the Golden Boot after their three goals.
