ZESCO United Bounce Back From ABSA Loss

After losing in the ABSA Cup Final last weekend, ZESCO United won their most recent FAZ Super League match on Wednesday against Red Arrows.

The match, played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, resulted in a final score of 2-1 to ZESCO United.

Subsequently ZESCO increased their lead in the league to eight points above second place Forest Rangers, with eleven and ten games left to play respectively.

ZESCO team coach Mumamba Numba said the win came as a huge relief, having lost the ABSA Cup Final only four days previously.

Speaking about the impact which the loss could have had on his team, Numba said “of course that was our concern after losing in the Cup final. Sometimes it can affect the team so the only thing that can change the mindset of the players is a victory.”

He continued in stressing the importance of the victory.

“So this victory is very important for us because it has put us in a better position to settle down and prepare for the game against Indeni.

ZESCO United are due to play Indeni on Saturday.
