Banda First Woman To Score Back-To-Back Hat-Tricks At Same Olympics

Shepolopolo captain Barbra Banda has become the first woman to ever score back-to-back hat-tricks at the same Olympic games after scoring 3 out of four goals for her team on Saturday.

The game, which was Shepolopolo’s second in the tournament, was played against China in the early rounds of the group stages of the competition.

After finding themselves 3-1 down to China, the Zambian side scored 4 successive goals to place them in the lead, before a late controversial penalty denied them their first Group F win.

China’s Wang Shuang scored all four goals for her country, making it the second successive game that a player had scored four times against Zambia after Vivienne Miedema achieved the same feat for the Netherlands.
