Avram Grant Names Squad for AFCON

Chipolopolo Coach Avram Grant has named his 24-member provisional squad ahead of the final stage of the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers against Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone.

The team will be missing key players with six ruled out due to injuries. Among them are Captain Lubambo Musonda, defender Miguel Chaiwa, Midfielder Edwars Chilfuya and striker Patson Daka.

Speaking after the Chipolopolo coach unveiled the Squad in Lusaka today, he said, “Our target is simple: When the two games are finished, we will be in AFCON.”

“We need to do our best against Ivory Coast. Last year, we played against them, and we won even though everyone said we would lose, and we played well. In football, anything can happen. I have a lot of respect for Ivory Coast; all the players are key players in the clubs in Europe,” continued the Israel international and former Chelsea coach.

Zambia will face the Ivory Coast on November 15th at 18:00 at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola.
