U17 Women’s Football Team Train for World Cup Qualifiers

The Zambia Under 17 women's football team coach Carol Kanyemba said the team is training for a strong performance in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Uganda.

Kanyemba plans to use the winning strategy from their previous qualifier against Tanzania to secure victory in the third round of the 2024 U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers.

The team's primary goal is to win the first leg fixture against Uganda at Nkoloma Stadium on May 12, 2024.

All 35 players called up for the back-to-back fixtures are currently in camp, with the broader selection intended to provide new players with an opportunity to compete for a spot in the final squad.

Kanyemba says she is confident in the team's preparation during a training session at Sunset Stadium, whilst commending the Ugandan team’s skills following their win against Cameroon.

Under 17 captain Blessings Zulu said the team is determined to progress to the final round of qualifiers.

ZESCO United striker Ruth Mukoma, who received a call-up, pledged to work hard with her teammates to achieve positive results both at home and away.
