Zambia’s Copper Queens will play Morocco today in the final first leg qualifying match against the Atlas Lionesses at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Captain Barbra Banda urged fans to fill the stadium and support the Zambian Women’s National Team.
“It is always exciting to play in Ndola. I would like to ask the fans to come in numbers and support us. The first leg is always important. We have to win the game at home and finish the job away,” Banda said.
“The team is ready and everyone is in shape and looking forward to tomorrow’s game, we are focused on getting a result in tomorrow’s game. I think having a lot of experienced players in the team does not call for us to relax, we have coordinate as players.”
Following the match today, the Copper Queens will travel to Morocco for the second leg set to take place on 9 April. The winner of the two legs will secure one of the two African slots for the Olympics.
