PF Spending Priorities Questioned
As the full force of the Covid-19 third wave becomes apparent many are asking what could have been done differently. While few countries have managed to escape the pandemic there is no denying that the impact has been worse in some depending on the level of preparedness of the government and their ability to secure and roll out vaccinations.
UPND Presidential Spokesperson Anthony Bwalya has pointed to corruption under the current government as being a major factor in the poor handling of the crisis.
“When they were stealing public resources, they didn't think there would be consequences did they? Until COVID19 came...” Bwalya writes.
Zambia needs money for: healthcare personnel, vaccines, testing kits, oxygen facilities and beds., according to Bwalya.
He says that while we apparently have no money “we remember the following: 1. Mukula 2. Firetenders 3. Honeybee 4. Fertilizer contracts.”
“The PF have been nothing but a government of deals for thieves! And this is how we have ended up where we are today with COVID19,” he concludes.
