No Zambians Killed In Ukraine

According to Foreign Affairs Minister Stanley Kakubo, all 14 students have left Sumy and Ukraine.

Mr. Kakubo said that although 12 students are in Warsaw awaiting evacuation back to Zambia, 22 students have chosen to stay in Europe after successfully escaping the war-torn Ukraine.

Mr. Kakubo stated at a briefing at his office that two of the three students in Kharkov have relocated to a safer city and may choose to leave Ukraine at a later date.

He went on to say that one student had been successfully evacuated from Ukraine, but that he would not be returning home.

The minister praised government personnel for their outstanding efforts in facilitating the safe evacuation of Zambian students from Ukraine.

He thanked each and every member of the multi-sectoral team for their perseverance in evacuating the students.

Mr. Kakubo went on to say that the government is grateful to God for the protection of Zambians and the safe travel out of harm's way.
