Minister Of Health Announces Nine Provinces To Get Oxygen Systems
Sylvia Masebo, Minister of Health, has announced that the government is working with partners to provide oxygen systems to be sent to nine provinces throughout Zambia.
The news comes after many health facilities across the country struggled to supply oxygen due to the increased demand during the pandemic.
The new machines were commissioned by the minister and are part of the New Dawn government’s plans to improve provisions of healthcare throughout the country.
U.S Africa Command Announces Plans To Open Office In Zambia
The U.S government has announced plans to open an Office of Security Cooperation at the U.S Embassy in Zambia.
The new office will enhance military relations and expand the areas of cooperation between the U.S and Zambian forces.
The announcements come after AFRICOM Deputy Director for Strategy, Engagement, and Programs Peter Bailey met with President Hakainde Hichilema during his visit to Zambia. During the meeting Brig. Gen. Bailey praised the President and his New Dawn government for its commitment to regional peace and stability.
Rugby 7s Miss Out On Commonwealth Qualifications
The Zambian Rugby Sevens team have missed out on the 2022 Rugby World Cup and 2022 Commonwealth Games after finishing fourth at the Rugby World Cup.
Zambia lost to Kenya 19-12 in the third and fourth play-off last Sunday in Kampala.
The team started strong, winning against Cameroon and Burkina Faso but were defeated by Uganda in the third round.
Uganda and Zimbabwe have qualified for both the 2022 Rugby World Cup and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
