Five suspects arrested in connection to the murder of Guntilla Muleya

Guntilla Muleya was murdered on Wednesday 24 July after leaving work as normal at 5pm the previous day. His body was found in the Njolwe area in Lusaka. Zambian police no have five men in custody connected to the unlawful killing of the Independent Broadcasting Authority’s (IBA) Director General.

Of the five, two are police officers, one is a reserve police officer, one is a member of the public, and the latest arrest is the IBA accountant, Francis Chipyoka.

In a press briefing, the police spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga said “In the course of these investigations we managed to recover his official motor vehicle, additionally as police, we have also seized two motor vehicles from the suspects and we have also recovered three firearms, comprising of two pistols and one AK-47 rifle as well as cash amounting to K1930.”

“We have also recovered assorted knives, various returned gadgets and phones, and these are relevant to the crime at hand. We have also find hard drives and flash discs from the suspects.”

He noted that the investigations were progressing well, and the public would be kept informed throughout the investigation.
