Kitwe Newborns Receive Hampers from First Lady Mutinta Hichilema

First Lady Mutinta Hichilema donated baby hampers to fourteen babies born on January 1, 2025, in Kitwe.

Mrs Hichilema was represented by Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo’s wife, Samantha, who took time to interact with the mothers at Chamboli Hospital.

“We are here to share New Year hampers on behalf of the First Lady to the babies that have been born today. We welcome them to the new year 2025 and are very happy to have them.” Said Mrs Matambo.

Mrs Matambo also wished the mothers of the new babies a happy New Year and reiterated the government's commitment to improving maternal health care services.

Charles Mwinuna, the Copperbelt Health Director, spoke about the hard work of obstetricians at Chamboli Hospital, highlighting their observation skills and initiative.

The mothers of the babies are hugely grateful to the First Lady for the New Year gifts; one mother said, “I am so excited about the visit and the gifts.”
