President Hichilema Outlines Plans For Health Centre Along Treason Road
President Hakainde Hichilema has outlined plans to build a health centre along Mongu-Limulunng Road.
The president announced that the facility would be built using his personal resources.
The statement comes after the president was offered three hectares of land at Sing’anda village in Mongu District of Western Province. The land, now known as Treason Road, was where the president had been wrongly accused of treason during the Patriotic Front’s rule.
The president made the announcement during the land’s groundbreaking ceremony.
He stated, ‘I will not say much because I am overwhelmed by the gesture, this gesture that came to me in an unexpected way.’
During the ceremony, he further described his ordeal when he first went to the plot of land.
The centre will provide many in the area with high-quality healthcare.
