Miles Sampa tells court he is elected PF president
Contested Patriotic Front (PF) leader Miles Sampa has told the Lusaka High Court that he is duly elected substantive party president of the party following the extraordinary conference held on 24 October 2023.
According to Sampa’s testimony to the court, Edgar Lungu created a vacancy when he resigned from his position as party president.
Sampa’s claim to party presidency is being contested by nine expelled PF members who seek to nullify his election, citing irregularities.
They are Brian Mundubile, Stephen Kampyongo, Christopher Kang’ombe, Ronald Chitotela, Remember Mutale, Mulenga Fube, Mutotwe Kafwaya, Nickson Chilangwa and Emmanuel Musonda.
Sampa, who is also serving as MP for Matero Constituency, has argued that the courts have already guided that PF leadership issues should be resolved internally within the party, not in the court.
