Nkana To Face Moroccan Giants Raja Casablanca

Demonstrating a mixed performance so far within the CAF Confederation cup, winning only two out of their last five matches, Nkana are due to play the Moroccon side this afternoon.

Placed in the bottom group D, a win in this match would place Nkana in a strong spot to get their campaign back on track.

So far, defence has been an issue with Nkana allowing eight goals to be leaked. With Raja Casablanca being known for their strong defence, if Nkana learn their lesson and improve their defence it could make for a strong side to be up against the Moroccan team.

With the match not to be played at Nkana’s home ground and a later start thought to favour their visitors, the Zambian side will have to step up their game if they are to beat Raja Casablanca.

Nkana Coach Kelvin Kaindu said “Yes, the change of the venue, playing away from home gives us a slight disadvantage. We have a good record at Nkana, we have not lost a match in a long time. Even the kickoff time also, we are not used to playing in the night in our league, it’s a slight disadvantage but we will work hard to try and win the match” during a pre-match press conference.

Kaindu understands the importance of a win in this match and is sure that the side can work to better their standpoint in the competition. “It’s a crucial game for us coming from a defeat. But we are working very hard; we have five games left in the group to pick up points.”.

On the Moroccan side, coach Jamal Sellami said “We know that Nkana will be hard to beat at home, football can change but we are hoping to get three points. It won’t be easy, yes, we have got experience but football rules are very simple; win your games.”

The Zambian side still have four matches after this to play within their group.
