Last Place Kitwe United Secure First Win

Current champions of the Super League Nkana F.C. lost their Wednesday match against Kitwe United at Arthur Davies Stadium.  

The match finished with a 2-1 scoreboard, after Nkana started with a 1-0 lead as Fred Tshimenga put them ahead in the second minute of the game.

Kitwe United levelled the match in the 69th minute with a goal from substitute Clive Biyeta, with the final goal being played by Nkana goalkeeper Talbert Shumba who accidentally scored an own goal.  

Prior to the match, Kitwe had only secured eight points over 22 games this season, having drawn three and lost six of their last matches.  

The outcome of the match leaves Nkana three places from the bottom of the leader board on 21 points, whilst Kitwe remain in the lowest rank within the division however the win has enabled them to increase their points up to 11 points over 23 games.
